Interesting...I thought eating raw more often was better for me.
Veggies meaning I eat more salads that include carrots, different greens like spinach and kale, lettuce not iceberg, cucumbers, then I include fresh fruit and nuts. I add what are supposed to be anti-inflammatory spices (garlic, turmeric, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cumin) are just a few that I add.
Now, it's helped me lose weight, but not reduce my stomach as much as I'd like.
It might be better for you, it depends on your body and the energy you get from it. And also, it can be better for you right now and not later. Food is medicine. If an antibiotic works, we donβt take that to mean we stay on it forever. Like the seasons, we change along with it as well as our own personal seasons. Listen to you body.
Great advice. Thank you. I agree food is medicine. I believe our bodies can heal themselves, handled properly. Unfortunately, we don't always know what's good, better, or best.
Thank you for the reminders. Besides fresh fruit I am going to only eat a small pinch of raw vegetables. I will see how this works for me. While living in Africa with no way to refrigerate the food I learned the value in preparing your food daily.
Timing! Have been learning a lot about my unique nature and constitution and how Agni and Ojas drive and govern our life from thoughts to spirituality. Beautiful writing Savitree.
I would love to talk and expand with you on this topic and learn more on female system, hormones, ayurveda, and digestion of food, emotions, and experiences when the time is good. :)
Thanks for sharing the podcast with Vasant Lad! Besides my in-real-life doctor and chef, that taught me all things practical Ayurveda, his book was my Bible. Anytime you want to talk, let me know.

I prefer my food prepared that day. It always seems like leftovers just donβt have that zing to them. No pizazz. Less life force!
That's absolutely right! You're blessed to have the senses to tell the difference. I realize how subtle this is for most people.
Love these points for better digestion and you explained Agni, Ojas, and Ama so clearly. Love this! π

yes, and where you live, the culture, the climate, it all matters
