Hi, I tried this, too, as I like to mix up the meditation part of my morning practice. I got hung up on the timing and trying to follow a video on my phone. I think I'll just try using my trusty, low tech egg timer.

Hey Julie! I recorded myself doing the meditation and send it to you and paid subscribers via email. Here's the link: https://savitree.substack.com/p/kirtan-kriya-meditation-12-minutes

I loved this post! It was helpful, informative, and inspiring. I tried the Kirtan Kriya and liked it. I loved that it gave me direction of what to be doing the entire time. For a type-A personality new to meditation, that was very helpful.

What are the benefits/reasoning behind chanting the mantra vs just meditating silently? I wasn't sure what I should be feeling--but maybe that's the point, to let go of all of that, all of those expectations? Would you recommend doing a Kirtan Kriya everyday?

I am excited about meditation and hope that it will help me meet my "tantrums." I have a few "tantrums" that keep surfacing, and I want to be able to meet them with more space and logic instead of emotion. Do you find that meditation helps you do that?

Thank you for your wisdom! I love all of these posts!

Hi Lindsay! Thank you so much for these questions! Yes, these meditation are EXCELLENT FOR A-Types. And for anyone who has trouble sitting still or quieting the mind for that matter.

There are quite a few benefits for chanting vs silent meditation; one being that it's easier, including for the experienced meditators. It also helps to change negative self talk.

The short answer for your logic question is that it helps to train the monkey mind. AND, it does much more. Go here for more: https://savitree.substack.com/p/q-and-a-how-to-make-meditation-work. It doesn't answer it in full, but I will write more about this in the near future.
