Feeling unglued? Skip the snack and choose kitchari—a warm, spiced bowl that steadies your gut and mind. Inside: a base recipe, dosha + seasonal variations, and a free PDF for easy, everyday comfort.
Last year my boyfriend got sick and I did a Kitchari, I did not have my best recipe and not all of them are good enough but this is so warmi g to find a writing about the benefits of it. Eating kitchari is so dosha balancing whenever you are sick :)
It’s a go-to for me when life feels a bit chaotic and I could use some grounding. Or when I’m finding it difficult to make decisions, because in the end, it’s all about digestion — for both stomach and life. And, when I hear people talk about a weekly fast, I say, have you tried 2 days of kitchari? As you can see, I’m a fan. 🪭
Thank you, Savitree, for sharing this comforting and nourishing recipe. I love how you made kitchari feel like a warm hug and a true reset for the body and mind. I can’t wait to try it the next time I need grounding and care. 🌱🌿
Thank you so much, Savitree, for sharing your beautiful Kitchari recipe. It was absolutely delicious and deeply comforting. I made the Vata-soothing variation with sweet potatoes and carrots, and after the first bowl, my whole body felt peaceful, calm, and grounded. I couldn’t help but go back for more. Even my 20-month-old son enjoyed a few warm spoonfuls, and my daughter loved it too. What a nourishing gift. 🌱🤍

Yes, me too. I do not often eat it but I like kitchsri a lot and other Ayurveda go-tos. In my case, lemon, honey ginger for Vata.
After throwing countless options to the question of what to cook? Me and my wife often settle with Khichdi. 😀
Ultimate comfort food.
Amazing. Thanks for letting me know. I wouldn't mind finding more peeps out there that turns to kitchari (khichdi)!
